How to use this weather page:
The weather station reporting to this page is located in Seabrook near Galveston Bay, about 4 miles from the boathouse. The most important thing for us rowers to watch is the wind speed and direction. If the wind direction is out of the north or the south and is more than 10 miles per hour , sculling in a single will be pretty rough, if it is at more than 15 miles per hour, you are best off staying on shore no matter which kind of boat you'd planned on rowing. If the wind is out of the east, it can blow up to 20 mph, and you may still be able to row, though it will be rough. If it out of the west, it gets rough at about 10-15 mph. Of course, the other things to watch out for are thunderstorms and fog. When temperature and dew point are close to each other, fog is likely to form.
